2018 Buick Regal: The General Expectations of the Ride

The 2018 Buick Regal will be the sixth generation within the Regal line and here are a lot of hopes for the ride to be redesigned and changed. Rumor has it that the new Regal is on the way but there isn’t much information about the new specs and features. There are some predictions as well as expectations for the new ride, though, and let’s see if any of those will be happening for the 2018 model.

For the new 2018 Buick Regal, a lot of people are hoping that this midsize sedan will also be available in the four door arrangement (the sedan) and also the wagon model with its five door arrangements. A lot of them are also expecting that the new model will be longer, which will affect the interior cabin. The rear seat, especially, can make use of the additional space while managing the more efficient space layout.

It is expected that the new Regal will have the improvements on both the exterior as well as interior design. The exterior look should go along with the design language of Opel, Buick, and Vauxhall while the interior cabin can experience an improved quality for increased comfort. Space efficient layout is expected to be better in the new line so more sophisticated and luxurious interior quality can be achieved.

It is expected that the new 2018 Buick Regal will be built on the new E2XX platform that has been used in Malibu Chevy 2016. If they do, the new Regal will have a new front wheel driving system but the all wheel driving will be offered as another option. The new platform will be able to reduce the current weight up to 300 pounds. It would be good for the new Regal to come with lighter structure to improve fuel economy, handle, braking, and also acceleration.

For the base trim, the expected engine is the LFV Ecotect 1.5 liter. The higher level (for the Regal Turbo) will be the LTG I4 turbocharged 2.0 liter engine. All of these engines will be coming with automatic eight speed transmission that will improve performance and handle.

Price and Release Date

It is unknown when the company will release the ride but it is expected that the new Regal won’t exceed the tag of $30,000 for the base trim. Let’s wait and see for the further updates of the new 2018 Buick Regal.
