There have been a lot of rumors and predictions about the upcoming 2018 Shelby GT500. If the rumor is true, then the new GT500 will be coming with the already well-known GT350 – and that’s something unusual . In fact, such a thing is pretty new. It seems that the rumor is true with some confirmed stories or even the upload of Shelby documents with some fresh changes that won’t affect the performance.
Besides some of the changes happening on the exterior, the colors will be one of the major focus. With available colors like Fury Orange, Gray Lead Foot, and Blue Kona, there is no doubt that the new 2018 Shelby GT500 will be looking a lot better with the improved aesthetic appeal. As one of the most popular muscle cars in the planet, the colors also play a major role in the development and you can be sure that it will look great.
Since Ford is planning on competing against Camaro, they need to be serious about the updates. Besides the EcoBoost, auto ten speed transmission, and adaptive magnetic damper system, the overall handle and performance will absolutely increase – along the magical appeal that always comes with Shelby. But taking a good look on the exterior appeal alone will be enough – for now – because such a ride is a total beauty!
There won’t be any six cylinder engine for this model, but there will be V8 and EcoBoost options. The four cylinder EcoBoost 2.3 liter engine and the V8 5.0 liter engine will get the upgrade although Ford hasn’t mentioned the exact numbers for the power output. Moreover, there will be direct and also port injection, an inspiration taken from the F-150 Raptor. Both of those engines will be paired with either auto ten speed or manual six speed transmission.
The rumor about the 2018 Shelby GT500 has been going for quite a while, with Ford determined to beat their long term nemesis, the Camaro. But it seems that they are saving the best for last because they haven’t revealed much yet up to this point.
Price and Release Date
Up until now, there hasn’t been any official confirmation about the release date, although rumor has it that it should be introduced in the beginning of 2017, followed by one year of production stage. Price for this 2018 Shelby GT500 is also unknown but it is a sure thing that it will be costlier than the GT350R.
