It is time to refresh the look of Subaru WRX so the company comes with a refreshed version for the new 2018 Subaru WRX. After all, the last changes happened three years ago when the fourth generation WRX was launched in 2015. There won’t be any major changes or grandeur updates but it is a sure thing that the new refreshed work will create a new platform, model, and appeal to the ride.

Updates

So far, the news about the refreshed styles of 2018 Subaru WRX is about the updated Brembo brakes, the redesigned suspension, the new front side fascia, the additional 19 inch wheels for the STI line, and also the availability of the Performance package. The platform will likely the same as the new ride won’t be using the Global Platform that was used in Impreza hatchback and sedan 2017.

Because the changes won’t be too grandeur, the style of the WRX will remain the same. The front end will be coming with new grille, wider mouth, and also bigger air intake. For the 2018 Subaru WRX Limited trim, there will be redesigned LED headlamps with cool technology where they can swivel in turns. The front side structure will also come with bolstered front design that will improve collision prevention system.

Engine

This ride will be coming with four cylinder direct injection turbocharged 2.0 liter engine that produces 268 hp of power and 258 Nm of torque. It will be paired with manual six speed transmission for the standard operation while a CVT technology will be offered as the optional pick. The manual system has an improved and better synchronize design that can reduce friction and improves handle, affecting the smoother feel. For the STI line, it comes with four cylinder turbocharged 2.5 liter engine that is delivering 305 hp of power and 290 Nm of torque.

Interior Cabin

Interior cabin will definitely get a refreshed touchup with features and comfort have become the major attention. Safety features are mostly developed with interior quality and cover. Cupholders will be available on the rear armrests along with the improved materials and changes on the interior door handles. Better noise control will also be improved so you won’t be disturbed by the sound from the outside as well as the sound from the engine.

Release date and price haven’t been mentioned by the company but further updates should be available soon enough – at least before the official launch of 2018 Subaru WRX.
