Since the Maserati GranTurismo 2018 will be the last production line made by the company – well, at least until they replace it or focus on the newer variant – the company has decided to make it big and grandeur. After all, it is going to be their last production, right? So, what lose will they bear? It might as well they are doing it big and extravagant than doing nothing.
Yes, you heard it right, the Maserati GranTurismo 2018 will be the last line produced by the company. The news has been confirmed by the company, stating that they may be focusing on the new Alfieri with the next development. It remains unsure, really, whether the company is going to focus with the Alfieri or they are going to make a new line to replace the GranTurismo. But its existence in the auto world for 10 years has shown as that the line is pretty promising and likable so we only have to wait for further plan from them.
The latest update also stated that the Maserati GranTurismo 2018 model will only be made available in coupe. In the event you want to drive a convertible with 2+2 arrangement or with the regular sedan, you probably have to wait for the 2019 model. Although Maserati is focusing on the Alfieri now, the possibility for the ride to get updates soon enough will be quite low.
It remains unclear whether Maserati will be coming with the similar engine arrangement or not but it is highly likely that they will be using the same V8 4.7 liter engine – which they have used in the current product. It is possible that they are tweaking the engine so more output can be generated. Another alternative is that they are using the turbocharged engine instead of the naturally aspirated one, which means that they can deliver up to 500 hp of power. When it is paired with the rear wheel driving system and the auto seven speed gearbox transmission, the new GranTurismo is able to reach 60 mph within 4.7 seconds.
Price and Release Date
There is nothing confirmed about the upcoming launch but it is possible that the new GranTurismo will be available by the end of 2017 with the predicted price around $135,000. For a powerful ride like Maserati GranTurismo 2018, such a price tag is considered low and inexpensive.
